Composite Fillings In Mukilteo

Restore Cavities with Natural-Looking Composite Fillings in Mukilteo

At Harbour Pointe Dental Arts, we believe restoring your teeth shouldn’t come at the cost of your smile’s appearance. That’s why we use composite fillings—also known as tooth-colored fillings—to repair cavities and minor damage while blending seamlessly with your natural teeth. They’re durable, safe, and designed to look and feel just like your own tooth structure.

What Are Composite Fillings?

Composite fillings are made from a blend of resin and glass particles, creating a strong and aesthetically pleasing material. Unlike traditional silver (amalgam) fillings, composite fillings are bonded directly to the tooth and matched to its color, making them virtually invisible when you smile.

Why Patients Choose Composite Fillings

Natural Appearance

Each filling is color-matched to your surrounding teeth for a seamless look—no metal, no shine.

Strong and Durable

Composite materials are designed to stand up to daily wear and tear, especially for small to mid-sized cavities.

Preserves More of Your Tooth

Because composite material bonds directly to the tooth, less natural tooth structure needs to be removed during placement.

Mercury-Free Option

Composite fillings are metal-free and a popular choice for patients seeking a modern, biocompatible solution.

Common Questions We Hear

Are composite fillings as strong as metal fillings?

Yes—for small to medium-sized restorations, composite fillings offer excellent durability and hold up well under normal chewing pressure. Plus, they look much better in visible areas of your smile.

How long do composite fillings last?

With proper care and regular checkups, composite fillings can last anywhere from 5 to 10 years or longer. Their longevity depends on the location of the filling and your oral hygiene habits.

Do composite fillings require special care?

Not at all! Just maintain your regular brushing, flossing, and professional cleanings. Avoid chewing hard objects like ice or pens, and your filling will continue to protect your tooth for years.
