Bone Grafting In Mukilteo

Build a Strong Foundation with Bone Grafting in Mukilteo

At Harbour Pointe Dental Arts, we’re committed to helping patients restore both their smile and their oral health. If you’ve experienced bone loss in the jaw—whether from tooth loss, gum disease, or injury—bone grafting can help rebuild the strength and structure needed to support dental implants or preserve facial harmony. Dr. Cline offers safe, precise bone grafting procedures using advanced techniques to help ensure long-term success.

What Is Bone Grafting?

Bone grafting is a procedure that adds or regenerates bone in areas where it has been lost or weakened. It’s commonly performed when a patient doesn’t have enough healthy bone to support a dental implant or to maintain facial structure after a tooth extraction. The graft material may come from your own body, a donor source, or synthetic materials—all selected for safety and compatibility.

When Is Bone Grafting Needed?

Preparing for Dental Implants

Bone grafting is often recommended if your jawbone is too thin or soft to securely support an implant.

Following Tooth Extraction

A graft placed after an extraction can help preserve bone volume and prevent future bone loss.

Gum Disease or Bone Loss

Severe periodontal disease can lead to bone deterioration. A graft may help restore support and health to the jaw.

Injury or Trauma

Bone grafting may be needed to repair damage caused by injury or facial trauma.

Common Questions We Hear

Is bone grafting painful?

Most patients experience only mild discomfort after the procedure. We use local anesthesia and gentle techniques to keep you comfortable during treatment, and Dr. Cline will provide clear aftercare instructions for healing.

How long does bone grafting take to heal?

Healing time can vary depending on the extent of the graft and your individual health, but most grafts take a few months to fully integrate with your natural bone before additional procedures like implants can begin.

Can bone grafting and dental implants be done at the same time?

In some cases, yes. Depending on your bone condition, Dr. Cline may be able to place the implant during the same visit as the bone graft. This will be evaluated during your consultation.
